I am a fully qualified English teacher: 12 years teaching English and English Literature in UK secondary schools and 2 years abroad teaching English as a foreign language (CELTA-qualified). I hold a BA (Hons) in English from a Russell Group university, a PGCE, QTS, and an enhanced DBS (Update Service registered).
Alongside my classroom career, I have tutored students from primary to adult level, covering English, drama, SATs, 11+, university/drama school preparation, primary science and history. I have also supported learners with additional needs, such as ASD, ADHD, and dyslexia, and I spent four years as Head of Year, gaining extensive experience in safeguarding, pastoral care, and mentoring.
My teaching philosophy is student-centred – I aim to create a supportive, engaging environment where learners feel confident to contribute, build their skills, and make steady progress.
My hobbies include travelling, learning Spanish, writing poetry, drinking coffee and petting cats
