Sophie Atkinson - Tutor Profile

Sophie Atkinson graduated with a First in English Literature from University College London and also holds an MA in modern English literature from the same university. She scored one of the top 10% of results in the UK for her English Literature A-Level. Since university, she has worked as a journalist for titles like the New York Times, the New York Times Magazine, the Washington Post and the Guardian. She formerly taught English as a foreign language in Spain.

Sophie has an infectious enthusiasm for literature and writing and is excited to pass on her passion for the subject to a new generation. Classes are tailored to each student, but one aspect remains the same each time: she aims to create a strong foundation of basic skills that the student can subsequently build on and to promote their confidence in textual analysis and writing.
