I am an experienced teacher and SEND specialist with over twenty years working with children and young people across primary, secondary and alternative provision. My work focuses particularly on supporting neurodivergent learners, including students with autism, ADHD, PDA and school-based anxiety, as well as those who have struggled to engage with traditional classroom learning.

Alongside my SEND specialism, I teach Maths (KS2–GCSE), Computing (KS2–KS3), Design & Technology (KS2–GCSE), Art & Design (KS2–GCSE) and Science (KS2–KS3). My background in mechanical engineering and computing has shaped a teaching approach that is practical, creative and problem-solving focused.

Many of the students I work with benefit from learning through doing. I regularly use hands-on activities, design challenges, robotics, coding projects and creative work to make academic concepts clear and engaging. This approach helps students build confidence and develop a genuine sense of curiosity about learning.

I have worked extensively one-to-one with students who need a calm, flexible approach to learning. Building trust and understanding how each student learns best is central to my work. Once that relationship is established, I gradually introduce structure and challenge so that students can make steady academic progress.

Whether supporting a primary pupil building confidence in maths, helping a GCSE student prepare for exams, or working with a young person who has struggled in school, my goal is always the same: to create a positive learning experience where students feel capable, supported and motivated to succeed.
